TESTING RESULTS ABOUT WATER TREATMENT EFFECT IN AQUACULTURE FIELD OF SOME BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTS: GEM, GEM-P, CTA-T, CTA-8T

(Based on testing report of Experimental Biology Department _ Aquaculture Research Institute II)

 

Aquaculture Research Institute II has performed the test about some products such as: GEM, GEM-P, CTA-T, CTA-8T supplied by Consulting Center For Biology & Environment CTA. The results are reported as following:

    1. Information of products:

  1. Testing method:
    1. Testing arrangement

Address: Experimental Aquaculture Area, 658 Kha Van Can, Linh Dong precinct, Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh city.

Time: from 15/10/2003 to 28/11/2003

Study object: Green crayfish

Breeding tank: 09 Composite tanks, 06 cement tanks 2.5m3 and 12 canvas pockets 1 m3.

Density: 20 crayfish/tank

Size: 80-100 crayfish/kg

Testing concentration:

  • CTA – T: spraying CTA – T on the surface of tank with 2-3 ml/m3 for 5-7 days and blending into food with rate of 2 -3 %  based on food weight.
  • CTA – 8T: spraying CTA – 8T on the surface of tank with 2-3 ml/m3 for 5-7 days and blending into food with rate of 2 -3 % based on food weight.
  • GEM-P: improving environment: 100g/3000m2, 1-2 time/month.
  • GEM: 1-2 ppm, spray with rate of 5-7 days/1 time.

Testing time: test before each stage and after using for 7 days periodically.

  1. Monitoring parameters

Some water-physiochemical quotas (NH4+/NH3, NO2, pH, COD, alkaline level, DO)

  1. Results

Utilized concentration is 2 ppm, 4 ppm of CTA – T, CTA – 8T, GEM, and 0.03 ppm; 0.05 ppm of GEM – P on composite and cement tanks before each stage and after 7 day- treatment. We have tested periodically water-physiochemical quotas at experimental plots and control-plots. Some quotas pH, alkaline level, DO are stable with testing time.

During experiment, we tested, evaluated and determined some elements NH4+/NH3, NO2 and COD with the concentration of CTA – T, CTA – 8T is 2 ppm, 4 ppm; GEM is 0.03 ppm and GEM-P is 0.05 ppm compared with control plots.

According to above results, we showed that at the concentration of CTA – T, CTA – 8T, GEM is 2 ppm; GEM-P is 0.03 ppm, it isn’t significantly  different (P>0.05) between environmental elements compared with control-plot.

 

 At the experimental plots with concentration of CTA – T, CTA – 8T, GEM is 4 ppm and GEM-P 0.05 ppm and the same initial conditions,  it is significantly different (P<0.05) between environmental elements and suitable with breeding conditions, lower than control-plots.

 

  1. Conclusion

CTA – T, CTA – 8T, GEM are used with concentration of 4 ppm and GEM –P 0.05 ppm in crayfish culture medium have ability of accumulation, organic mud decomposition, toxicant reduction, environmental stability (NH4+/NH3, NO2 and COD are reduced).

According to testing evaluation report of Aquaculture Research Institute II - Ministry of Fisheries:

+ GEM and CTA – T are biological products containing useful microorganisms, can break up organic substances, waste things, excess food accumulated at pond floor, improve water quality.  

+ GEM-P and CTA – 8T are biological products containing useful microorganisms, natural Vitamins, micro minerals, stimulate alga development, decompose organic substances, reduce bad odor, stabilize color of water, improve water quality.

Products CTA – T, CTA – 8T, GEM, GEM-P

 

 

Aquaculture Research Institute II has performed some testes about products: CTA – T, CTA – 8T, GEM, GEM-P supplied by Consulting Center of Technology and Environment. Testing results are presented as following:

 

1. Information of products:

Name of product: GEM, GEM-P, CTA-T, CTA-8T

Components:

  • CTA – T: Lactic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Autotropic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Aspergillus Oryzae ≥ 103 CFU/ml and Saccharomyces cerevisiae ≥ 109 CFU/ml.
  • CTA – 8T: Lactic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Autotropic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Aspergillus Oryzae ≥ 103 CFU/ml and Saccharomyces cerevisiae ≥ 109 CFU/ml, natural vitamins E, C and natural antibiotics.
  • GEM: Lactic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Autotropic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Aspergillus Oryzae ≥ 103 CFU/ml and Saccharomyces cerevisiae ≥ 109 CFU/ml.
  • GEM-P: Lactic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Autotropic bacteria ≥ 109 CFU/ml, Aspergillus Oryzae ≥ 103 CFU/ml and Saccharomyces cerevisiae ≥ 109 CFU/ml, SiO2 = 42-45%, Al2O3 = 17-22%, MgO @ 1%, additives.

Use:

  • CTA – T: Eliminate bad odor, reduce mud accumulated at pond floor, toxic gas NH3-N, NO2, stabilize water color, increase digestive ability.
  • CTA – 8T: Inhibit the bacteria causing diseases (black gill, red body, worn out antenna), increase disease prevention ability of shrimp and reduce toxic gas NH3-N, NO2-N.
  • GEM-P: Decrease time to create color for water, toxic gas NH3-N, NO2-N, reject bad odor, stabilize color of water.
  • GEM: Reduce bad odor, mud, toxic gas accumulated at pond floor, control water quality.

Instruction for use:

  • CTA – T: spray continuously CTA – T on the water surface with rate of 2-3 ml/m3 for 5-7 days in the early morning or dusk and blend into food with rate of 2 -3 % food weight, cause fermentation for 8-12 hours, feed everyday.
  • CTA – 8T: spray continuously CTA – 8T on the water surface with 2-3 ml/m3 for 5-7 days in the early morning or dusk and blend into food with rate of 2 -3 % food weight, cause fermentation for 8-12 hours, feed with rate of 3-5days/time.
  • GEM-P: Pond preparation: spread it regularly with rate of 200-500 g/2000m2, keep the water level at 20 cm for 5-7 days; and improve environment: 100g/3000m2, 1-2 times/month.
  • GEM: Dissolve 1 liter of molasses in 20 liters of clear water, after that, put 1 liter of GEM into them, put the lid on the mixture-can and cause fermentation for 5-10 days at 27-30oC (keep away from the sunlight). Then, open the lid of can, if the mixture has the faint sour aroma we can spray regularly on pond.

2. Testing method
